LDS Convert Stories of a New Mormon

Well, another Elder is leaving the area, and it seems he may be taking it a little harder than usual. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say, again, that he will be missed and regardless of that other W guy, he is also a good Elder. Having said that I have to relate a little story of something that happened the other night.

We were sitting in my apartment, having just finished reading scriptures, when I decided to get online and check some things out. (Facebook, Twitter, Blog) Now, he is an avid fan of The Office and asked and asked if the show was still going strong, even after Steve Carell left. One thing lead to another and we found out that he was in a movie recently that, if you can imagine, also had Kevin Bacon in it. (Six Degrees anyone?) After seeing this, this particular Elder said “Kevin Bacon! I thought he was done making movies.” As a self-described movie aficionado, this struck me in a very funny way. Kevin Bacon is the actor known for being in movies with the most actors. I mean, he’s been in about 75 movies/T.V. shows, starting in 1978. That’s over 2 movies a year for the last 34 years. If this isn’t epic, I don’t know what is. Do you have a favorite Kevin Bacon movie? Footloose is too easy.

This blog reminds me of our need to stay on the right path, as Bacon shows tremendous “staying” power in his career. 2 Timothy 3: 10-12;

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
